Chapter 1: Vocab: Point, Line, Plane, Ray, Segment, Polygon, 3 parallel lines, 2 parallel planes
Journal Entries
- Journal Entry 1: Compare/Contrast the Segment Addition Postulate and the Angle Addition Postulate. (3-6 sentences).
- Journal Entry 2: Compare/Contrast a midpoint and a bisector. (3-6 sentences).
Chapter 2: Vocab: Perpendicular Lines
- Journal Entry 3: Copy and paste an advertisement picture into a slide. Explain how that advertisement is portraying a conditional statement.
Chapter 3: Vocab: Skew Lines, Transversal
- Journal Entry 4: Create a venn diagram that compares/contrasts parallel lines and skew lines.
Chapter 4: Vocab: Congruent Figures, Isosceles Triangle, Equilateral Triangle, Right Triangle
- Journal Entry 5: Explain what a "rigid motion" is in your own words. Give examples of types of rigid motions. (3-6 sentences).
- Journal Entry 6: Classifying Triangles: Create a diagram that lists the types of triangle classifications by Sides & Angles.
Chapter 5: Vocab: Transformation (find an example of a translation, reflection, rotation, or dilation). Identify the type of transformation.
Chapter 6: Vocab: Similar Figures (find an example of a two similar figures).
- Also list the criteria needed for two figures to be similar

Chapter 8: Vocab: Find 3 of the following and define them: Square, rectangle, trapezoid, kite, rhombus, parallelogram, isosceles trapezoid.
Chapter 9: Vocab: Find 2 of the following and define them: Prism, Pyramid, Cone, Sphere, Cylinder
Chapter 12: Vocab: (if we get this far...)

Chapter 7: Vocab: Angle of Elevation, Angle of Depression
- Journal Entry 7: Find and post a picture of a large-scale right triangle in the real world. Label one measurable side and angle with an assumed measurement. Explain how if you know the angle of elevation you could solve for the missing sides.
Chapter 8: Vocab: Find 3 of the following and define them: Square, rectangle, trapezoid, kite, rhombus, parallelogram, isosceles trapezoid.
- Journal Entry 9: Draw a graphic ("venn diagram") that depicts the relationships among all of the quadrilaterals.
Chapter 9: Vocab: Find 2 of the following and define them: Prism, Pyramid, Cone, Sphere, Cylinder
- Journal Entry 10: Explain the similarities AND differences between Surface Area and Lateral Area.
Chapter 12: Vocab: (if we get this far...)
- Journal Entry #___: Combinations vs. Permutations. How are they similar? How are they different? 3-5 sentences.
- Journal Entry #___: Define and give an example of both an independent and dependent event.
